Horse racing guru Steven Dowler is back and hoping to take down the Boosted £5,000 Place 6 at Wolverhampton on Tuesday. Check out his Wolverhampton tips and join his Syndicate.
Phil Kirby’s ALSVINDER hasn’t managed to get his head in front for quite a while, but he’s posted creditable efforts in defeat, particularly from higher marks in the past. A repeat performance of his second over course-and-distance back in November from a mark of 80 would give him solid each-way credentials.
DRAKEFELL hardly ever runs a bad race and having won two of his three previous starts here, he makes plenty of appeal from a career low-mark. Whilst HEER WE GO AGAIN is a former course-and-distance winner and has to be high on the shortlist from a handy draw.
Selections: ALSVINDER, DRAKEFELL, HEER WE GO AGAIN
16.40 – Bombardier ‘March To Your Own Drum’ Handicap – 1m
The chances of SERVO will be based on whether he can overcome a wide berth in stall 13, but he knows his way around this track having finished runner-up here last month and his mark doesn’t look overly excessive.
HECTOR’S HERE seeks a hat-trick having scored by over one length over course-and-distance last month. He’ll need more from a 5Ib higher mark but has to be respected and should go close.
Selections: SERVO, HECTOR’S HERE
17.10 – Bombardier British-Hopped Amber Beer Classified Stakes – 7f
PACT OF STEEL has posted some good efforts in defeat and looked in need of the run when returning from a 13-month absence here in December. From a career low-mark and with fitness now assured, he’s an each-way player.
TREPIDATION was a good third here six days ago and might well have won if granted a clear passage at a crucial stage. He might not be high on reliability from a win point of view but has sound each-way claims.
Selections: PACT OF STEEL, TREPIDATION
17.40 – Bombardier British-Hopped Amber Beer Classified Stakes – 7f
A lot of these make little appeal with the exception of SHARRABANG, who is a previous course winner and was a creditable fourth here just under three weeks ago. From a 1Ib lower mark, he earns the vote to come out on top.
Michael Bell’s HEATHERDOWN MATRON has run well the last two times here and should have races in her from a mark that seems quite generous and exploitable.
Selections: SHARRABANG, HEATHERDOWN MATRON
18.10 – Betway Novice Stakes – 5f
RADRIZZANI failed to meet market expectations and build on her excellent win over course-and-distance on debut but has still achieved more than Blue Moonrise. She’s been given a nice break since and looks poised to get back on track under Danny Tudhope.
18.40 – Read Katie Walsh On Betway Insider Handicap – 6f
CHARLES LE BRUN was hugely unfortunate when denied a clear run at Kempton three weeks ago. The handicapper has only nudged her up 1Ib so she’s taken to make amends.
LITTLE FLOOZIE posted her best effort when second at Lingfield two weeks ago having always been positioned well. She’s drawn nicely in stall 1 and can make her presence felt.
Selections: CHARLES LE BRUN, LITTLE FLOOZIE
