After six weeks of any other NFL season, a 1-4-1 record would basically have a team in a huge hole in the division race, and probably scrambling to make a run at the playoffs.
But for the Philadelphia Eagles, they are just a half game out of the top spot in the NFC (L)East.
Welcome to 2020.
Yes, the division is a dumpster fire. But some team has to win it, and the Eagles have a good chance over the coming weeks to get to .500. Thursday night, they host the New York Giants, who despite winning last week might have actually lost out on Trevor Lawrence, so they can’t even do that right.
Philadelphia has the Giants, then the Cowboys, then a bye, before heading to the Meadowlands to take on the Giants. Three wins could turn the season; of course, a couple losses could sink it, too.
Go with the Eagles tonight.
