- Over 2.5 goals have been scored in each of the pair’s last five meetings
- Nimes have lost five of their last six matches
- Over 2.5 goals have been scored in four of Nimes and four of Lille’s last six fixtures
Lille to Return to Winning Ways at the Expense of Nimes
Nimes suffered a 5-0 defeat away at Strasbourg on Wednesday, taking their goal difference to -25 and leaving the club bottom of the table. Lille also lost in midweek, going down 2-1 in their own backyard against an Angers side that have impressed on the road this season.
Lille sit 3rd in the Ligue 1 table heading into a game against an opponent they have really enjoyed playing against over the years. The visitors have claimed six wins, three draws and only suffered one defeat in their last 10 matches against Nimes. Fixtures between the two clubs have tended to produce a lot of goals, with each of their last five encounters in all competitions seeing at least four goals scored.
Both teams have also been involved in a number of high-scoring games of late, with four of Nimes and four of Lille’s last six outings producing over 2.5 goals. Lille have managed to keep a couple of clean sheets in their last four games, including one against PSG, while Nimes have conceded at least two goals in each of their last seven league games.
Lille look set to add to Nimes’ woes this weekend and we’re predicting an away win with over 2.5 goals being scored. The hosts have failed to score in four of their last six fixtures, so we’ve backed Lille to claim a comfortable 3-0 victory.
