November was big for sportsbetting in the state of New Jersey, as bet handle for the period reached a whopping $931.6 million.
The numbers were reported by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement and was up 16% from the month prior and 65.7% from the same time last year. That handle was even higher than the state of Nevada’s handle of $659.9 million in October, which was a new record for that state. Retail sportsbetting handle was $60 million, while online numbers came in at $872.1 million.
Football bets saw $433.3 million, but other sports like hockey, professional basketball, and other sports were dormant, meaning less action for them. College basketball did start, so some action was taken on those games.
Revenues for the month was $50.6 million, up from $32.9 million last year. For the year, sportsbetting revenues are up 23% to $332.1 million.
