Charlotte Hornets Betting Preview: Stay Red-Hot

The Charlotte Hornets come into play with a record of 6-6, just a half-game behind the Orlando Magic for first place in the Southeast Division. The Hornets have won five of their last six games after losing five of their first six. In their last game, however, the Hornets were plagued by poor shooting and fell to the Dallas Mavericks 104-93.

Charlotte shot just 38% from the floor in the loss, including just 10-28 from behind the arc. The Hornets also shot just 50% from the free throw line. All in all, just a poor shooting performance slowed the Hornets down.

Terry Rozier led Charlotte with 18 points. P.J. Washington had a double-double, with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Gordon Hayward added 16 in the loss.

On the season, the Hornets have been led by Hayward on the offensive end. He is averaging 22 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. Rozier is off to a solid start, averaging 19.4 points per game. Washington is averaging 12.3 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. A pleasant surprise for the Hornets this season has been rookie LaMelo Ball. He is averaging 11.7 points and a team-high seven rebounds per contest.

Toronto Raptors Betting Preview: When is it Going to Turn Around?

The Toronto Raptors come into play with a record of 2-8, just a half-game ahead of Detroit for the worst record in the league. The Raptors have struggled out of the gate, and have lost two in a row. One of the reasons for the Raptors’ slow start may be the fact that they have had to relocate to Tampa to play their home games for the first half of the season because of virus restrictions in Canada.

As a result, the Raptors have not been sharp. They are 19th in the league in defensive efficiency. In the Raptors’ last game, they took the Portland Trail Blazers down to the wire, but fell short again when C.J. McCollum hit a jumper with just 9.6 seconds to play to give the Blazers the 112-111 victory over Toronto. The Raptors shot 45% from the floor in the game and led by 17 points at one point in the first half. Pascal Siakam led the Raptors by registering a triple-double. He had 22 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists. Kyle Lowry added 18 points and nine rebounds.

On the season, the Raptors are led by Fred VanVleet, who is averaging 20.9 points per game. Siakam is playing at an all-star level, averaging 20.4 points and 8.8 rebounds, and Kyle Lowry is averaging 19.7 points and 6.7 assists per contest.

Betting Lines and Predictions

MyBookie has a moneyline on this game of Toronto -360, while Charlotte currently sits at +290. The Raptors are favored by nine points and the over/under is 220.5. Toronto is due to get hot at some point. They have lost back-to-back games at the buzzer. You have to believe that the bounces will start to go their way at some point.

The Hornets are playing well, but they have also had the luxury of having a bit of a soft spot in their schedule. The Raptors are too talented to continue at this poor of a pace, they will take this one.
