Mattapoisett Free Public Library’s Annual Quahog Award Program for children in 3rd to 6th grade is virtual this year for the safety of children and families, organizers announced in a press release.

Beginning Tuesday, Jan. 26, teachers, students and parents can log children into the library’s new Beanstack Book Logging Program and participate. As students read and track their books, they will receive prizes, activity and craft kits, and invitations to Zoom programs, which include virtual Bingo and a dance party. Finally, all participants who complete the program will receive a prize and are entered into a final drawing for gift cards to Barnes and Noble Book Store, the release said.

For more information about this program plus the link to register online visit the library website at and see the Quahog Awards Program web page under the “Children and Families” section.

The program has been funded by the Friends of the Mattapoisett Library, The Mattapoisett Library Trust and the Ann and Richard J. Prouty Foundation, Bank of America, N.A., Co-Trustee.
