Massillon Library plans events centered around One Book, One Community book selection

From Feb. 1 through March 3, the library will host “Kindness Bingo!” in conjunction with the 2021 One Book, One Community program.

Participants will channel their inner Mr. Rogers and spread kindness throughout the community while playing bingo.

Each bingo equals one entry for a prize. Pick up bingo cards at the Reference Desk at the main library, at the Circulation Desks at the Askren and Belloni branches, or at Turn in completed bingo cards by March 4. Winners will be drawn on March 8.

The 2021 One Book, One Community book selection is “I’m Proud of You: My Friendship with Fred Rogers” by Tim Madigan.

Kids can create door hangers, surprise bags and tie-dye masks to give to neighbors during the “Hello, Neighbor” Zoom program at 11 a.m. Feb. 6.

The event is part of the One Book, One Community, a community-wide reading program.

Patrons are invited to learn more about home network basics during a free Zoom event from 6 to 7 p.m. Feb. 24.

Participants will learn the difference between a router and a modem and more about internet speed.

Registration is required and begins Jan. 24. A zoom invitation will be emailed to registered participants the day of the program.
