Manchester City vs Arsenal Analysis
20:15 Kick-Off on 17th June
Manchester City are strong favourites to win this match, and you could argue that 1/3 for a City win is a fair price as City have won their last five matches against Arsenal comfortably. But the last of those wins came on the December 15, five days before Mikel Arteta took over at Arsenal and got the Gunners back on track.
While City have become used to ripping through an Arsenal defence that was more interested in attacking, Arteta has added steel and discipline in spades. Arsenal have lost just one Premier League game under Arteta and that was against Chelsea back in December. Arsenal also kept five clean sheets in their last seven games in all competitions before the Premier League was suspended.
City’s defensive frailties were also highlighted by defeats by Manchester United and Tottenham in their last four Premier League games. Admittedly, City beat Leicester and West Ham in between those matches, but there’s a suspicion they could be vulnerable against a team with plenty of class and more to play for.
That’s why Arsenal look a seriously good value bet at around 8/1 (9.00)
