Dustin Johnson was among the early favorites to win this year’s Masters at 8-1. Johnson, Paul Casey, and Dylan Frittelli were tied atop the leaderboard at -7 following the first round.

Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson were also hanging around within the top 20 of the leaderboard.

Tiger heads into the second round at -4, sitting with some breathing room ahead of the cut line. He tees off at 2:30 p.m. ET.

Paul Casey took over the lead by late afternoon Thursday. He would pay out 65-1 odds with a win.

Paul Casey makes his 14th Masters appearance this week, and he has played well in the past. Casey missed the cut last year but has five top-10 finishes in his career. He has been playing fairly average golf as of late and does not stand out in any key metric coming into the week. Casey averages drives over 300 yards, which will certainly help but is lacking in other areas, specifically putting. He currently ranks 163rd in scrambling and 225th in 3-putt avoidance. Casey definitely has the experience to compete, which could make him a good value play at $8,000. However, recent data suggests he is a risky play.–Connor Wege – Rotoballer

Tiger Woods, meanwhile, was looking to finish the day strong among the top 10.

Woods has failed to finish among the top-10 at an event since January. He even missed the cut in September at the U.S. Open.

November 12, 2020 (1:34 pm ET)

Webb Simpson has taken over the lead Thursday afternoon. He was coming in at 40-1 odds.

“Webb Simpson has been the picture of consistency in 2020 and has posted two wins this season, compared to only two missed cuts. After struggling at Augusta National early in his career, he’s looked much better in his most recent Masters starts, posting an impressive T5 last year and a T20 in 2018. Simpson’s lack of distance off the tee is slightly concerning on this long Augusta National layout, but his excellence in every other area should help him to compensate for the distance deficiency. He is a rock-solid DFS option this week.” –Joe Nicely – RotoBaller

Janewattananond was listed at between +30000 and +50000 heading into the tournament.

Corey Conners and Lucas Glover were also hanging around the top 3.

Conners was listed at +20000, Glover at +25000.

Rain caused early delays in play. It is still very early in the tournament.
